  Cash Now:
  • How does the Cash Now compare with other Book Stores?

BookHolders' cash values are usually higher, but it depends on the supply and demand of the book.

  • What do I have to do?

Just drop by BookHolders, with your books of course, and we'll give you cash in hand or you can get prices to compare.

  Advantage Program:
  • How does the Advantage Program work?

    1. You drop your book(s) off at BookHolders.
    2. We'll do everything possible to sell your book(s).
    3. Once any of the books are sold you can pickup a check at BookHolders or have it mailed to your address.

  • What advantages does BookHolders have over other used book exchanges?
Comparison Chart ( average book )
Other Used Book Stores BuyBack Bookholders Advantage "You Get" Price Bookholders Cash Now USEDNEW
    $19.00$48.00$25.00$57.00$89.00

The "You Get" price is the amount you receive after BookHolder's 15% commission. The advantage listing is based on the suggested selling price but may be more or less if the seller changes the selling price.

  • How can BookHolders give so much money back to the students selling their books?

Bookholders acts as service (consignment shop), takes the money normally going to the book exchange and gives it back to the students.

  • What do Suggested Selling Price and "You Get" Price mean?

Initially when you drop a book off we'll sell it at the suggested selling price. We've done a lot of research and determined that your book is mostly likely to sell at that price in a reasonable amount of time. As an option you have the ability to modify that price and sell your book at a higher price or a lower price. The "You Get" price is with our 15% commission subtracted from the suggested selling price. The "You Get" price is displayed at the counter during drop off.

  • What do I have to do?

Not much. All you have to do is drop off the book, we'll do the rest.

  • Will any of my personal information be released to the buyer?

None. We handle the whole process so a buyer doesn't know who the book came from.

  • How do I register my books for selling in the Advantage Program?
Bookholders has two ways to sign up your books.

    1. Online: Students can fill out our registration form online and simply drop off their books at one of our convenient locations
    2. Walk In: Students can walk in with their used books, fill out our registration form and drop off their books.
  • Can a student change the price for the book anytime they want?

Bookholders sets up an account for each student selling books. If you decide to change your book's selling price just go to seller services on BookHolders.com and change the price.

  • What if my address changes, how do I update my address so Bookholders can send me money for my books sold?

Students need to keep an accurate address on their BookHolders account. Access your student account on Bookholders.com with your student ID and password and update your personal information.

  • What type of books are accepted at BookHolders?

We take any textbook no matter where you brought it or what school you used it in.

  • What if my book doesn't sell?

Students have two options when their books do not sell. First, a student should review the price to see if their asking price is too high. A student should compare the competition for selling the book. If many books of the same type are listed, a student may lower the price to get their book sold. Students usually buy the best condition and lowest price. Secondly, if the book hasn't sold for a while, it might be an old edition or unused book in that case you may request the book back in the seller services section.

  • What if my book is not the same edition as the class requirement?

Many students will buy old editions for classes if the price is right, so list your book at a savings price. BookHolders also sells all over the United States and Internationally to the U.K., Japan, Italy, and many others.

  • What does BookHolders get out of the deal?

BookHolders receives 15% commission on the suggested selling price or student modified price. There is no fee for dropping or picking up your books.

  • Can I drop off a book and if doesn't sell use Cash Now?

Yep. At anytime you can cash in the book or request it back.
